The Prince: Bathtime

I'm so tempted to make a joke about wet beavers.

Suikoden IV was a pretty big dissapointment to me, in large part to the fact that the main character had one facial expression and virtually no lines. He was deliberately generic, so that people could transpose themselves into his role, but the thing is, that didn't work well on me when the characters were tiny little sprites that barely moved. When you surround a character like that with emotive, interesting characters, all of a sudden instead of being a cipher, he's just dull and lifeless.

After Chris, Hugo, and Geddoe, Hero4 was pretty pathetic.

So I was really happy when I got Suikoden V and got to see the hero have expressions and react to things. Plus he's more then a little cute. So I wanted to draw him. Originally, I was going to do some kind of a generic action pose in his full royal regalia, but I wanted to show off his long dancer's legs, and I also wanted a more fun concept, so I came up with the idea of Miroon, the diminutive beaver bath owner, darting under him on his way to the bath. Fairly happy with this one. Tomorrow it's back to the ladies, so I better save the bish while I can.
